Existing buildings were stripped back to the structural steel frames and adapted ready to receive a new envelope consisting of metal wall and roof cladding, shopfronts, feature cladding and signage.
The rear yard space was extended into the existing embankment through construction of an insitu concrete retaining wall structure.
Following redecoration of the steel frames the buildings were subdivided to provide blank canvases from which incoming retail tenants could commence fit out operations.
Block paving to the carpark between the units was fully replaced and the layout reconfigured. High quality fencing, new lighting and extensive soft landscaping modernised the exterior space to compliment the buildings.
Works to the joint access road were implemented in coordination with the activities of the adjacent, live, retail units to ensure minimal interruption and impact to trading.
During the contract an instruction was issued for the construction of 2 new retail pods to abut one of the refurbished buildings. Shell construction works were completed on the pod buildings in time for the main buildings to be fitted out by their new tenants.
The project provided a revitalised and refreshed trading space which was swiftly, and fully, occupied by incoming tenants.
