Work has commenced on site at The Grange in Rearsby, Leicestershire to provide an additional two-storey office building linked to the client’s existing building by a glass walkway. The building on site, a former Hunting Box, was constructed in the late 19th century and is utilised as office accommodation by HCC International Insurance Company.
The new office facility is a steel frame construction with masonry, curtain walling facades and pitched tiled roofs. The Architectural look of the extension is sympathetic to the period features of the existing building with some modern elements incorporated. The new building will feature a stone banding to the ground and first floor levels along with Brise Soleil.
The extension will provide open plan office accommodation, meeting rooms and welfare facilities. Externally, work includes associated landscaping incorporating a planting schedule of a variety of species to replicate the manicured landscaping present before construction.
Construction will be undertaken next to the existing occupied building, so works will be carried out in close relations with the client to enable both to work safely and productively.
