Works to extend a Home Bargains store at the Windmill Shopping Centre near Birmingham were completed last week.
The project included the strip out of a former market hall and removal of party walls adjacent to Home Bargains to allow the retailer to expand their store area.
Works to the existing market hall also included the extension of the envelope to make better use of a recessed service yard which held little benefit in it’s original form.
By adjusting the finished floor levels within the unit and forming new staff facilities the retailer were left with a practical and attractive space ready for fit out.
Whilst foot traffic around the shopping centre was lessened due to the Covid-19 pandemic, close liaison was maintained with the estates management team and retailers to ensure minimal impact by the development.
